Caridina Care Guide

Caridina shrimp stay healthy in stable, soft-water setups with planted tanks and low bioload. They show better color and breed well under consistent conditions.

Basic Care

  • Tank size: 10+ gallons

  • Temperature: 68–74°F

  • pH: 5.5–6.8

  • GH/KH: Soft water (low KH)

  • Diet: Biofilm, specialized shrimp foods, blanched veggies

  • Behavior: Peaceful and active

  • Tankmates: Best kept in species-only tanks

Key Notes

  • Avoid parameter swings.

  • Use a sponge filter to protect juveniles.

  • Provide leaf litter and moss for steady biofilm growth.
